About HUMAGI
HUMAGI is a small humanities-focused secondary school in Budapest where students learn through conversations, music and hands-on projects.

A small school with big conversations
We keep our cohorts small so we can follow every learner closely. Students meet their mentors every week, share progress, plan next steps and talk through challenges. Humanities subjects become living discussions; we question sources, compare viewpoints and connect stories with real life.
How we teach
- Attention and care. Teachers and mentors notice when someone needs extra time or encouragement and adjust plans together.
- Project-based learning. Literature, history and social studies classes often turn into mini research projects, podcasts or exhibitions.
- Languages in action. Native-speaking Japanese coaches lead the specialist strand, while other languages are arranged based on student interest.
Who teaches here?
Our team mixes teachers, artists and linguists — from writers and translators to folk musicians and theatre practitioners. Visiting tutors from the Liszt Institutes, the Hungarian Heritage House and partner schools in Japan regularly join our lessons, and alumni return to mentor Upper School students.
